Happy birthday to HRH Princess Wezizwe Sigcau. She is the daughter of late King (Kumkani) Justice Mpondombini Sigcau of Eastern amaMpondo aseQaukeni kingdom, South Africa and his only wife Queen regent Lombekiso MaSobhuza Sigcau, a princess of Eswatini.
Princess Wezizwe Sigcau was the heir of her late father who only had two daughters. However female succession is an alien tradition among the amaMpondo people of South Africa. Despite challenging the male succession in court, a royal relative was crowned, late King (Kumkani) Zanozuko Sigcau. In September 2022, she won the court of appeal case on the amaMpondo throne sucession with the court ruling that late King Zanozuko Sigcau selection in 2013 thrown out. She has been named sucessor by her family and chiefs
She is considered Chieftainess and heiress of her fathers royal lineage. She is also a mother to Prince Jubizizweni Zulu Sigcau. She is sister to Princess Bekiwe Sigcau and is also a cousin to the King Ndamase II of Mpondo Kingdom, aseNyandeni right royal house.
