Thousands gathered at kwaKhangelamangekane royal Palace grounds to witness the coronation of King Misuzulu Sinqobile KaZwelithini who was officially traditionally crowned King of Zulu Kingdom of amaZulu people of South Africa. He is the son of late King Goodwill Zwelithini and late Queen regent Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, both who passed away last year.

King Misuzulu KaZwelithini entered the kraal dressed in all black ina ceremony called Ukungena Esibayeni which involved him being presented to the late kings and ancestors as the new successor to the throne. Though he was named heir last year and has been recognised by the south African government as the rightful heir, some members of the Zulu family are supporting his brothers Prince Simakade (crowned last week) and Prince Buzabazi. King Misuzulu however enjoys much support and popularity than his brothers.

Guests involved royals from South Africa, Zambia, Malawi, government officials and amaZulu as a whole
