Nfon (King) Sultan Mohammed Nabil Mbombo Njoya is the current reigning monarch of Bamoun kingdom of Bamoun people of Cameroon. Born Prince Mfonrifum Mohammed Nabil Mbombo Njoya, he was crowned 20th sultan King of Bamoun kingdom immediately after his fathers funeral on Friday 7th October 2021. His father late King sultan Ibrahim Mbombo Njoya was the 19th Nfon (King) of Bamoun people since 1992.


King Sultan mfonrifum Nabil Mbombo Njoya is the first son of the late King to be born when he had ascended the throne. Despite having older brothers, royal tradition demands that the heir be a son born during the reign of his father. His mother Queen mother (Neh Manju or Nah Mfon) Njoupouo Chetou is one of the 9 queens of late King


Uniquely enough, he was crowned alongside his biological sister. Tradition demands that a Nfon is crowned alongside his sister as his coheir or advisor (Momafon) . His also reign with his mother Queen mother (Neh Manju or Nah Mfon) Njoupouo Chetou




Immediately after crowning he married his longtime girlfriend as his first wife Queen Aisha. They welcomed their first child Princess Nji Mongu Mfon Mforifum on 17th September 2022 and in 2023 Prince Njoya Mohammed Hafiz


King Sultan Nabil Mbombo Njoya has been serving as civil administrator in the office of the South Region governor. He relinquished his job to become traditional ruler. He is also expected to continue the polygamous tradition of marrying many wives like previous kings. He however rejected a Virgin presented to him as his first wife and decided to support her education.
